Introduction to AI

This course will explain the different kinds of AI and how each can be used. We will consider the history of AI development and explain how AI research only became viable with the development of faster and more powerful computers. We will look at the processes behind machine learning and gain an overview of how AI systems are trained on huge datasets, and how advances in the development of neural networks have improved the learning capabilities of AI. We will consider some of the ethical questions around AI, conscious and unconscious bias in algorithms and concerns around privacy and security. We will look at some of the positive ways AI is being deployed in various sectors before explaining the current trends in AI as well as examining the possible advantages and disadvantages of further development.
