Description

In this course, you will cover what a period is and the history of period stigma and menstrual health protection in the UK, considering what stigma is, why it follows periods and how it can be replaced by promoting period positivity. You will consider what is meant by period poverty and what can be done to prevent it. You will gain an understanding of period problems that may occur and how people can be supported with period-related health issues. You will also consider the effect of periods on mental health and learn about resources, policies and guidance that protect health and well-being. 

Who is the course aimed at?

This short programme can be taken standalone or as a supplement to a larger qualification. Where there are no specific entry requirements, a good grasp of English, Maths and ICT would be beneficial and advised.

Method of Assessment

Throughout the course, learners will undertake a variety of activities including multiple-choice questions and self-reflections on their learning. Learners need to complete the reading and activities on all slides for overall course completion.
