Water Risk Crash Course
Water Risk Crash Course
The aim of this course is to provide professionals who are new to water risk with a clear and practical introduction to the fundamentals of water risk. It explores why water risk matters, the different types of water risk and their potential impacts on businesses, investments and development outcomes. Learners are introduced to physical, infrastructure and governance risks, commonly used open-source tools, and a holistic water risk assessment blueprint.
The course is suitable for professionals with little or no previous experience in water risk, including sustainability and ESG professionals, consultants, corporate teams, financial and investment professionals, academics and development practitioners.
By the end of the course, learners will have a solid understanding of the water risk landscape, the business case for action, and key principles and do’s and don’ts of assessing water risks. The course provides the essential “why” and “what” of water risk, but does not teach learners how to independently conduct a comprehensive water risk assessment. Professionals seeking this practical assessment capability are recommended to progress to a Water Risk Assessment Certification.
How you will be assessed
There are no formal exams. Upon completion, learners receive a Certificate of Completion.
